About Brite Bite

Where oral health meets whole-body wellness.

Inside Brite Bite Clinic, Cumballa Hill

At Brite Bite, we believe your mouth is deeply connected to how you breathe, sleep, eat and feel.

That's why we go beyond routine dentistry, addressing the root causes, not just the symptoms. Whether it's restoring function, relieving pain or tension, or supporting better breathing and sleep, we focus on creating lasting change, not just short-term fixes.

You might come in curious, but you'll leave reassured — knowing you're receiving complete care that's designed for real life, not just the dental chair.

Root causes, not symptoms We look at breathing, sleep and oral function before we look at fillings.
Calm and child-friendly Unhurried appointments, plain explanations, and sedation when a child needs it.
Minimally invasive Lasers, sealants and early guidance — the least intervention that does the job.
An integrative network We work alongside pediatricians, ENTs, lactation consultants and bodyworkers.

Infants

Oral Care

We help parents understand teething, oral hygiene, and early habits.

Infant oral care at Brite Bite Clinic
What it is

Care that starts before the first tooth

Infant oral care is less about treatment and more about guidance. We look at how your baby feeds, how the gums and jaw are developing, and how the tongue rests — then we show you what to do at home, in a way that fits real days and real nights.

We recommend a first visit around the time the first tooth appears, or by the first birthday. It is a short, gentle appointment: no drills, no surprises — just a look, a wipe-down demonstration, and answers to the questions you have been collecting.

Why it matters

Worth mentioning at your visit

Feeding that takes very long, or is noisy or tiring
Sleeping with the mouth open, or noisy breathing at night
White or brown marks appearing on the new teeth
Bottle or breastfeeding to sleep, and how to wind it down
Thumb, finger or dummy habits past the first year
Teething pain — what genuinely helps, and what to skip

What to expect

01

A knee-to-knee look

Your baby stays in your arms while we check gums, teeth, tongue and lips.

02

A feeding and breathing chat

How feeds are going, how sleep looks, whether the mouth stays open.

03

A home routine you can keep

Brushing technique, fluoride guidance, and diet notes — demonstrated, not lectured.

04

A plan for next time

Usually a review in six months — sooner if something needs watching.

Tongue Tie Release & Lip Tie Release

Free the ties, let baby thrive — better feeding, and smiles that come alive.

Tongue tie assessment at Brite Bite Clinic
What it is

What is a tongue tie?

A tongue tie happens when the tissue under the tongue is too short or too tight. That limits how far the tongue can move and where it rests — which matters for feeding, for speech, and for how the palate grows.

A lip tie is the same idea higher up: the tissue behind the upper lip is too tight or thick, so the lip cannot lift and flange naturally during a feed.

Ties are congenital — present at birth, and likely linked to genetic or developmental factors during pregnancy. They are not caused by feeding practices or by anything you did.

Before and after a laser tongue tie release

Before and after a laser tongue tie release. Clinical photographs from Brite Bite Clinic.

Signs to watch for

Early signs that may suggest a tie

What mothers may notice

·Painful or damaged nipples ·Distorted nipple shape after feeding ·Incomplete breast drainage ·Low or dwindling milk supply ·Nipple thrush that keeps returning ·Blocked ducts or mastitis

What to notice in the baby

·A shallow latch that slips off often ·Clicking sounds while feeding ·The upper lip does not flange while feeding ·Gassiness, reflux or frequent hiccups ·Milk spilling from the corners of the mouth ·Very frequent, very long feeds and poor weight gain

In older children

Ties can also show up later — as unclear speech sounds, fussy eating and gagging on textures, mouth breathing, low tongue posture, or a narrow palate with crowded teeth. If a tie is affecting speech, eating or oral development, we assess it and treat it with precision and care.

The process

A laser release, start to finish

01

Functional assessment

We watch a feed or a swallow, check tongue lift and range, and only recommend a release if function is genuinely restricted.

02

The release

A soft-tissue laser, topical numbing, and a procedure measured in seconds rather than minutes. Minimal bleeding, no stitches.

03

Straight back to feeding

Babies feed immediately afterwards, in the room, with us watching to see what has changed.

04

Aftercare and review

Simple stretches, myofunctional exercises where useful, and a review to make sure healing and function are on track.

Infants

Neonatal or Natal Teeth

Teeth at birth? We'll make sure feeding stays smooth and safe right from day one.

Assessment of natal teeth in a newborn
What it is

A tooth on day one is rare — not alarming

A natal tooth is present at birth; a neonatal tooth appears in the first month. Most are lower front teeth, and most are simply early — an ordinary baby tooth that arrived ahead of schedule.

What matters is whether the tooth is stable and whether it is comfortable to feed around. Some are firmly rooted and need nothing more than smoothing and watching. Others are loose, sharp, or cause ulceration under the tongue — and those need a plan.

We assess it quickly, usually within the first days, and we always look at feeding as part of the picture rather than at the tooth in isolation.

Why it matters

Call us the same week if you notice

The tooth is wobbly enough to worry you
An ulcer or raw patch under the tongue
Nipple pain or grazing during feeds
Your baby refuses the breast or tires quickly
Weight gain has slowed
The edge feels sharp against your finger

What to expect

01

Examination

We check mobility, sharpness and any tissue trauma — and an X-ray only if we truly need one.

02

Keep and smooth

Where the tooth is stable, we polish the edge, treat any ulcer, and support the latch. Keeping the tooth is usually the goal.

03

Remove, if needed

If the tooth is very loose or feeding cannot continue safely, we remove it gently, with care taken over the newborn's comfort.

04

Feeding follow-up

A short review — and, if it helps, a joint plan with your lactation consultant or paediatrician.

Kids & Teens

Consultation

A thorough, child-friendly check-up designed to spot concerns early and guide healthy smiles.

A child-friendly dental consultation
What it is

A first visit built around your child

A consultation at Brite Bite is unhurried on purpose. We let your child see the room, hold the mirror, and understand what is about to happen before anything happens — because a calm first visit is what makes every later visit easy.

Beyond counting cavities, we look at how the jaws are growing, how the teeth are meeting, whether the tongue rests where it should, and whether your child breathes through the nose while asleep. Those things are far easier to guide at seven than to correct at seventeen.

You leave with a clear picture: what is fine, what we are watching, and what — if anything — needs doing now.

What we check

More than teeth

Decay risk, enamel quality and early white spots
Bite, spacing and how the jaws are growing
Tongue posture, lip seal and swallowing pattern
Mouth breathing, snoring and restless sleep
Habits — thumb, finger, dummy, nail biting
Diet, brushing routine and fluoride needs

What to expect

01

Say hello first

No chair, no instruments. We talk, your child looks around, and nobody rushes.

02

Tell–show–do

Every instrument gets named and demonstrated on a finger or a toy before it goes near a tooth.

03

The full examination

Teeth, gums, bite, airway and habits — with photographs or an X-ray only where they change the plan.

04

A plan in plain words

Priorities, timing and costs, explained to you — and to your child, at their level.

Kids & Teens

Cavity Fillings

Safe, tooth-coloured fillings and protective sealants to keep little teeth strong and cavity-free.

Tooth-coloured fillings for children
What it is

Small, early, and tooth-coloured

A filling replaces the part of a tooth that decay has taken away. In children we use tooth-coloured composite and glass ionomer materials — no metal, no dark shadows, and nothing that makes a child self-conscious about smiling.

Where a groove is deep but still healthy, a sealant is often the better answer: a thin protective layer painted into the biting surface, with no drilling at all. Fluoride varnish and diet coaching do the rest.

Caught early, a cavity is a short, comfortable appointment. Left alone, the same tooth may need a root canal — which is exactly why we look closely at every check-up.

Signs to watch for

Book a look if you see

Chalky white or brown marks near the gum line
A hole, a chip, or food catching in one spot
Sensitivity to cold, sweet things or ice cream
Chewing only on one side of the mouth
Bad breath that brushing does not fix
Frequent snacking, juice or bottles at bedtime

What to expect

01

Numbing, gently

Topical gel first, then anaesthetic if it is needed — described honestly, never as a surprise.

02

Cleaning the decay

We remove only what has to go, keeping as much healthy tooth as possible.

03

Filling and shaping

Tooth-coloured material, layered, set and polished so the bite feels normal straight away.

04

Preventing the next one

Sealants on vulnerable grooves, fluoride varnish, and a realistic look at snacks and brushing.

Kids & Teens

Baby Tooth Root Canal

When cavities run deep, we save the tooth and protect the future smile — comfortably and effectively.

Pulp therapy for a baby tooth
What it is

Why we save a tooth that is going to fall out

Baby teeth hold space. They guide the adult tooth into position, keep chewing comfortable, and shape how a child speaks. Losing one early can crowd the smile that follows — so when decay reaches the nerve, treating the tooth is usually better than removing it.

A baby tooth root canal — pulp therapy — removes the infected tissue inside, disinfects the space, fills it with a material that resorbs naturally with the tooth, and finishes with a crown so the tooth can go back to work.

It is quieter than it sounds. Most children manage it in one or two visits, and for anxious little ones we can do it under sedation.

Signs to watch for

Deep decay often announces itself

Night-time toothache, or pain that wakes your child
Swelling of the gum or cheek near one tooth
A small pimple or discharge on the gum
A tooth turning grey or darker than its neighbours
Refusing to chew, or avoiding one side entirely
A large hole, or a filling that has broken away

What to expect

01

Diagnosis

A small X-ray shows how deep the decay has gone and whether the root is healthy.

02

Comfort first

Full numbing, and sedation if your child would rather sleep through it.

03

Clean and fill

The infected pulp is removed, the space disinfected and filled with a child-safe, resorbable material.

04

Crown and review

A crown protects the tooth so it lasts until it is meant to go — then we watch it at check-ups.

Kids & Teens

Sedation Dentistry

For anxious little ones, we offer calming solutions that make dental care feel easy and stress-free.

Sedation dentistry for children at Brite Bite Clinic
What it is

Calm care for children who need it

Some children simply cannot sit through treatment — because they are very young, very anxious, have had a frightening experience before, or have special needs that make a long appointment overwhelming. Sedation lets us do the dentistry properly without a struggle that nobody wins.

Dr. Jashneet is trained in sedation dentistry through the South Asian Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Depending on your child's age, health and the treatment needed, that may mean nitrous oxide (laughing gas), oral sedation, or referral for treatment under general anaesthesia with a specialist team.

We always start with the lightest option that will work — and we talk you through exactly what it involves before you decide.

Who it helps

Sedation is often the kinder route when

Your child panics at the sight of the chair
Several teeth need treating in one visit
A previous appointment ended badly
A strong gag reflex makes treatment difficult
Your child has special needs or sensory sensitivity
Treatment is urgent and cannot wait for confidence to build

What to expect

01

Health screening

Medical history, airway assessment, weight and medications — sedation is only offered when it is clearly safe.

02

Clear instructions

Fasting times, what to wear, who should come along, and what your child should expect to feel.

03

Monitored treatment

Your child stays drowsy and comfortable while we work, monitored throughout.

04

Recovery with you

A quiet space to wake up in, written aftercare, and a phone number for the evening.

Kids & Teens

Dental Trauma

From chips to knocked-out teeth, we're equipped to handle dental emergencies calmly and quickly.

Emergency dental care for children
What it is

Falls happen. The first hour matters.

Playground knocks, cycle spills, a hard elbow during a game — most childhood dental injuries look far worse than they are, and most have a good outcome when they are seen quickly.

We handle chipped and fractured teeth, loosened or displaced teeth, knocked-out adult teeth, cut lips and gums, and injuries where a baby tooth has been pushed into the gum. Where an adult tooth has come out completely, replanting it within the hour gives the best chance of saving it.

Call us first — even before you set off. We will tell you what to do while you travel, and we will be ready when you arrive.

If an adult tooth is knocked out

01

Pick it up by the crown, never the root.

02

Rinse gently in milk or saline. Do not scrub it.

03

Slot it back into the socket if you can, and hold it there.

04

If you cannot, keep it in milk — not water — and call us straight away.

Never try to re-insert a baby tooth — it can damage the adult tooth developing underneath. Bring it with you instead.

What to expect at the clinic

01

Settle everyone

Bleeding controlled, pain relieved, and a calm room — for your child and for you.

02

Assess the damage

X-rays to check roots, sockets and the developing adult teeth underneath.

03

Stabilise and restore

Splinting, repositioning, or rebuilding the chipped edge in tooth-coloured composite.

04

Follow the tooth

Reviews over the following months — injured teeth can change colour or need a root canal later.

Kids & Teens

Habit Interception

We help children gently outgrow habits like thumb sucking or mouth breathing before they impact growth.

Habit interception for children
What it is

Habits shape faces while faces are still growing

A thumb held against the palate for hours a day, a mouth that stays open at night, a tongue that pushes forward on every swallow — repeated thousands of times, these gentle forces move teeth and change how the jaws develop.

Habit interception is about noticing the pattern early and replacing it, not punishing it. Most children want to stop; they just need a reason they understand, a substitute that works, and small wins they can see.

We combine gentle motivation, myofunctional exercises, and — only where genuinely needed — a small appliance as a reminder. Where the cause is a blocked nose, we bring in an ENT colleague rather than fight the symptom.

Signs to watch for

Habits we help children move past

Thumb, finger or dummy sucking past age three
Mouth breathing, day or night
Tongue thrusting, or a lisp that is not settling
Teeth grinding, or a jaw that clicks
Nail biting, lip biting or cheek chewing
Front teeth that no longer meet, or a narrowing palate

What to expect

01

Find the why

Comfort, boredom, a blocked nose, poor sleep — the reason decides the treatment.

02

Bring the child on board

A conversation at their level, a simple chart, and goals they choose themselves.

03

Retrain the muscles

Short daily myofunctional exercises for lip seal, nasal breathing and tongue posture.

04

Guide the growth

A reminder appliance or early airway orthodontics if the bite already needs help.

Airway-Focused Orthodontics

Helping you breathe better, and live better.

Airway-focused orthodontics at Brite Bite Clinic
What it is

What is airway-focused orthodontics?

It goes beyond straightening teeth. It looks at how the structure of your jaws, tongue and facial muscles affects the way you breathe, sleep, swallow and feel.

At Brite Bite we assess the teeth, jaws, and both the nasal and oropharyngeal airways, then design a holistic plan that supports healthy facial development and optimal airway function while achieving proper dental alignment — in children and in adults.

In practice that can mean jaw expansion, growth guidance appliances, braces or clear aligners, myofunctional therapy, or a combination — sequenced so each stage supports the next.

We focus on long-term wellbeing, not just aesthetics.

Aligning health, function and smile

Crowded teeth. Open bite. Mouth breathing. Low tongue posture. None of these are normal — they are signs the body is adapting to stresses like poor oral function or airway restriction.

Signs to watch for

Could you or your child benefit?

In adults

·Snoring, or waking unrefreshed after a full night ·Grinding, clenching or a clicking jaw ·Morning headaches, or neck and shoulder tension ·A dry mouth on waking, or a blocked nose most days ·Crowded or relapsed teeth after earlier braces ·Daytime fatigue, brain fog or poor concentration

In children

·Sleeping with the mouth open, or snoring ·Restless sleep, night sweats or bedwetting ·Dark circles, or a long narrow face developing ·Crowded teeth, an open bite or a crossbite ·Difficulty concentrating, or hyperactive behaviour ·Fussy eating, gagging, or slow eating

What to expect

01

A full airway assessment

Teeth, jaws, tongue, nasal and oropharyngeal airway — plus sleep and breathing history.

02

Records and imaging

Photographs, scans and X-rays, shared with your ENT or sleep physician where useful.

03

A sequenced plan

Expansion, growth guidance, aligners or braces — with myofunctional therapy alongside.

04

Stability

Retention and habit correction, so the result holds instead of drifting back.

Kids & Teens · Adults

Myofunctional Therapy

Targeted exercises that retrain muscle habits to support better breathing, jaw comfort, sleep, and long-term dental health.

Orofacial myofunctional therapy at Brite Bite Clinic
What it is

Physiotherapy for the mouth and face

The tongue, lips and facial muscles work all day and all night. When they sit in the wrong place or move in the wrong pattern, teeth drift, jaws grow narrow, and breathing quietly suffers.

Orofacial myofunctional therapy is a programme of simple, targeted exercises that retrain those muscles: nasal breathing, a proper lip seal, correct tongue rest posture, and a mature swallow. Dr. Jashneet is certified in orofacial myofunctional therapy by the American Academy of Orofacial and Myofunctional Therapy (AOMT).

No appliances, no surgery — a few minutes a day, reviewed regularly, for children and adults alike. It works beautifully on its own, and it makes orthodontics and tongue-tie releases hold far better.

Why it matters

What therapy can change

Improves nasal breathing

Trains the mouth to stay closed at rest, so the nose does the job it was built for.

Reduces snoring

Better tone in the tongue and throat muscles means a quieter, steadier night.

Eases jaw tension

Less clenching and clicking, and relief for the muscles around the joint.

Corrects swallowing

Replaces tongue thrust with a mature swallow, so teeth stop being pushed forward.

Supports orthodontics

Improves the outcome of braces or aligners — and helps prevent relapse afterwards.

Prepares for a tie release

Exercises before and after a frenectomy make the new range of movement stick.

What to expect

01

Myofunctional evaluation

Tongue range and posture, lip seal, breathing pattern, swallow and speech — measured, not guessed.

02

Your programme

A short set of daily exercises, demonstrated in the room and filmed so you can practise at home.

03

Regular reviews

Sessions every few weeks over roughly three to nine months, progressing as strength builds.

04

Made automatic

We finish when the new pattern happens without thinking about it — awake and asleep.

Adults

General Dentistry

From cleanings, crowns and veneers to root canals and implants — comprehensive care designed for comfort and lasting health.

General dentistry for adults at Brite Bite Clinic
What it is

Everyday dentistry, done thoughtfully

Adults come to Brite Bite for the ordinary things too — a clean, a filling, a crown, a tooth that has started to ache. We do all of it, with the same unhurried approach we use with children.

What is a little different is the lens. Before we rebuild a worn tooth, we ask why it wore. Before we treat a cracked molar, we look at clenching, jaw posture and sleep. Fixing the tooth is the easy half; understanding the cause is what makes the repair last.

Treatment is always quoted and sequenced in advance, so you know what is urgent, what can wait, and what it will cost.

What we do

Under one roof

Cleaning & gum care

Scaling, polishing and periodontal treatment, with a maintenance interval that suits you.

Fillings & restorations

Tooth-coloured composite and ceramic repairs, matched to your own shade.

Crowns & veneers

Rebuilding worn, cracked or discoloured teeth while keeping the bite in balance.

Root canal treatment

Saving a painful or infected tooth, usually in a single comfortable visit.

Implants & bridges

Replacing a missing tooth so chewing, speech and facial support all hold up.

Laser & minor surgery

Soft-tissue laser procedures, extractions and frenectomies, with faster healing.

What to expect

01

A full examination

Teeth, gums, bite, jaw joint and airway — plus photographs so you can see what we see.

02

Options, honestly

What is urgent, what can wait, what each route costs — including doing nothing for now.

03

Comfortable treatment

Appointments grouped sensibly, and sedation available if dentistry makes you anxious.

04

Keeping it that way

A maintenance plan, a night guard if you grind, and myofunctional help where it applies.

Not sure where to start? Just ask.

Send us a message on WhatsApp and we'll help you work out whether it's a check-up, a feeding assessment, or an airway consultation you need.
